A bit about me

Hello!

Thanks for visiting my creative corner of the internet. Sewing has been my hobby for a decade, and I’m so pleased that this skill can help me be a stay at home mum.

My career before becoming a mum was varied. I worked in retail, admin, and software development. I have diplomas in IT (coding) and graphic design, and while I loved the creativity in those elements of study, I eventually realised that I find far more satisfaction in making with my hands instead of on a computer.

Becoming a mum gave me the perfect opportunuty to start making with my hands again, particularly because I wanted to limit my screen time in front of my daughter. As she gets older, I’m excited to invite her into my work, and watch her become a maker in her own way ❤︎

My daughter is teaching me to find the balance of making a quality item whilst letting go of perfectionism. One of my favourite YouTubers, Laura Kampf, says “every defect gets respect.” I try to keep this front of mind in my work.
